Spring Time in the North

I’m shocked that we have already mid April and that my last post here was last year. What happened? The usual….lol! Life, work and everything around it makes time fly :)

We still have snow on the ground but temperatures are coming up and spring will arrive in the North as well.

I have good intentions to make all aspects of my life work together, and mostly have way too much on my plate to make it all happen. The day has only so many hours and I learned 2 years ago that things can change in an instant and that you have to make sure you remember what is important in life and that you need to take time to enjoy it.

With that said… I love what I do and am now back sewing, creating and catching up on custom orders.

I’m also planning to move my shop from Etsy to my website.

I’m not happy with Etsy anymore. For now I will keep my Etsy shop open but most items will move to the website and I hope in time word will spread and people will find me direct.

I’m also planning a Giveaway soon and hope you will help me get the word out. More info to follow so stay tuned.

A baby for our granddaughter

The baby has arrived and now it’s time for her to make her appearance…..

I had so much fun making this very special doll for our 2 year old granddaughter. From what I have seen, she loves her already. She has the perfect age and is very carring.

So what do you think? Doesn’t this little one just want you to squeeze her? I sure did!!

Her outfit is made from cotton fabric with Velcro closure to make dressing her easy for little hands.

Baby Dolls

I recently received my wool order and it’s always fun to imagine what this new batch of fluffy, soft wool will be used for.

Believe me the list of ideas is long and the question is always, what to pick first….

This time it wasn’t too hard because our granddaughter is turning 2 next month and she has the right age now for a baby doll. I hadn’t made a baby in many years, but she came together nicely.

I can’t show her yet because I want to wait until she arrives at our granddaughter. You will get to see her then for sure….I made sure that I took lots of pictures before she went on her trip South.

So for now I can show you some pictures of a couple of other babies in process. I usually make more then one of whatever I’m working on and for the babies it’s no different. Each will start to develope it’s own personality while I work on them. Right now they are still pretty much a blank page……

A bunch of Mini Babies and First Dolls have been patiently waiting for their debut in my shop…

The Mini Babies are in the shop already and the First Dolls are live now as well.

I tried to get a good variety of fabric colors among these dolls and there are a couple of different skin tones to choose from as well.

The long road to pick a look....

It took so much longer than I had thought but I’m finally done with installing my shop here on my website.

Part of it was that I changed website templates, had to adjust everything and recreate some pages that didn’t transfer. In the end I wasn’t happy with some of the options in the new template, how they looked and worked and after spending so much time on it, ended up with my old template.….lesson learned!

Now things can get back to what I’m really passionate about, which is creating 😊

New Shop....soon

For many years I’ve been selling my creations on Etsy. It was a good platform to sell you handmade crafts and art, low cost for the seller and the audience had no problem finding what they were looking for.

Over the years that has changed a lot. Etsy has become a huge sell all, has opend the market to mass produced items and is using algorism that leave many seller unable to show up in searches. If you don’t pay for advertising or offer free shipping you’re on page 20 even if you just listed.

I think the time has come to take the next step and have my shop right here on my website.

I’m currently in the process of setting it all up and hope to have the shop live shortly. Still working on a few things like shipping…..
